Gaming & Entertainment

Betting on Performance
Gaming operators cannot accept compromise. Smart business demands that systems exceed state gaming requirements and achieve the highest levels of video quality, stability, and service. Downtime is never acceptable. However, many operators still rely on stacks of DVRs with large resource requirements, operational costs and ineffciencies.
- High definition, 4-CIF video and 30 fps available on every channel
- Zero point of failure (ZPOF) redundancy throughout the system
- Nationwide onsite service with 2 or 4 response
- Analytical software to support merchandizing and floor planning
- Meets or exceeds state gaming commission requirements
At DataCom Systems, our solution delivers 64-bit video capture technology on dependable IBM System X Servers and storage devices. All components are assembled and tested at our ISO 9000 certified facility for effcient integration.
All features are accessible through an easy to learn and easy to operate EZ Click™ User Interface. The DataCom Systems’ Network Video Server (NVS) solution delivers unparalleled performance, redundancy, and support to allow any organization to accept no compromise.
Cash-in on Footprint

First, our enterprise Network Video Server (NVS) IBM BladeCenter® platform interfaces with existing analog components for truly seamless and painless integration while maximizing previous investment. The BladeCenter’s small footprint allows 224 cameras per 7U chassis and up to 1344 ports in one rack. With maximum performance on every channel, the DataCom solution has the highest camera-to-server density in the industry.
Secondly, each component within the BladeCenter platform has a redundant backup for zero single point of failure (ZPOF). Additionally, the system instantly detects any signal loss and automatically reroutes data to the failover blade server. With the BladeCenter platform, redundancy and failover safety provide confidence and peace of mind. With proactive 24/7 support services, operators can concentrate on safety and security while the DataCom team delivers on system reliability and uptime.
Proactive, Not Reactive
The DataCom NVS system includes a suite on integrated analytics for real-time analysis and proactive alerts. For example, integrated analytics can notify end-users when the system detects a possible reach-through by a patron at the cashier or gaming table — live, in real time.
Competitive Analysis
There are many ways to assess a security solution. There is only one way to solve all the challenges with one decision:
| Gaming Requirement | Competition | DataCom Systems |
| High Performance | Limited number of cameras per NVR attain 4-CIF and 30fps | All cameras per NVS operate at 4-CIF and 30fps |
| High Availability | Most gaming rules require 8 cameras per single point of failure | Zero single point of failure enables up to 64 cameras per Network Video Server (NVS) |
| High Density | 8 cameras per system requires 100 (4U) NVRs per 800 cameras | 896 cameras require only 4 (7U) BladeCenter chassis |
| Ease of Deployment | 100 NVRs require 200 (110V) power outlets and proprietary components | 4 chassis need only 8 (220W) outlets per 896 cameras within open architecture platform |
| Space Consolidation | 800 cameras requires 7+ racks of NVRs plus external encoders and storage devices | With 800+ cameras, less than 1 rack is needed with storage and internal encoders included |
| Service | Industry standard is a one-week turnaround on parts | Nationwide onsite service with 2 or 4 hour response |
| Quality | Proprietary 32-bit workstation class hardware is expensive and failure prone | All components are 64-bit server class from proven IT hardware provider |
| Return on Investment | Proprietary solution and large footprint requires larger initial and ongoing investment | 64-bit server architecture, high density, and shared resources increase ROI and decrease TCO |
Whether leveraging existing surveillance resources, adding new surveillance capabilities, or building out new construction; DataCom can design, implement and manage complete security solutions. Built on IBM’s line of tower, rack-mount, and BladeCenter servers and utilizing Avnet’s worldwide distribution network, the DataCom seamlessly extends existing security and IT technology while maximizing stability and performance.
