How much does a DataCom system cost?
Of course this depends on the number of cameras, retention requirements and many other factors but because DataCom is built on industry standard architecture our upfront price per port and total cost of ownership is lower than our competitors that use proprietary hardware as their platform.
How much room does a DataCom system require?
Generally speaking we are able to support 500 or more ports within less than 2 full size racks with full redundancy a.k.a. no single point of failure.
What are the power and cooling requirements?
BladeCenters and IBM Enterprise Storage typically use 200 volt circuts and are very compatable with most UPS systems. Our consultants will consider what you have and help you determine if any upgrade to power or cooling is necessary but it many cases no power and cooling upgrades are needed.
Once a purhcase order is placed how long does it take for me to be operational?
A project plan and timeline will be developed by our consulting team that includes everything from when you will receive equipment and how long it will take to install. Depending upon regulatory requirements it might be necessary to go through two retention cycles before regulators will sign off on your installation and the old system is taken off line. Generally speaking it takes 60-90 days after purchase order to be up and running.
Do you have references?
YES? Every customer that we have done business with is referenceable. Depending upon your type of business and location we are happy to set up a meeting or conversation with a approriate selection of current customers.
I am trying to get a budget approved and need help justifying a upgrade to our current system. Can you help me justify the expense to management?
Absolutely. Surveillance being a operational expense it is sometimes difficult to demonstrate why a upgrade is desireable. Sometimes it isn't but our consultants are able to gather information and help you present a business justification. Items that are carefully considered are historical maintenance expenses, laborious tape changing (VCR environments), risk and expense of lawsuits due to gaps in surveillance or poor video quality. The list goes on but at the end of the analysis you will have a one or two page document that lays out the facts and suggests the appropriate actions and financing options.
